The Art of Living Well Podcast®

Jan 12, 2022

Marnie and I are truly excited to share today’s guest, Heidi Zimmer, Founder of Wild Rice Retreat - Midwest's only wellness retreat center.

As a little background, Heidi Zimmer is a real estate development professional and creative entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience leading thoughtful development in the areas of affordable housing, community development, economic development and urban and rural planning. She has developed over $500 million in creative and arts related development projects throughout the United States.  As Founder/Owner of Wild Rice Retreat in Bayfield, WI, Heidi developed a $10 million, first of its kind arts and wellness retreat center in the midwest.  Heidi is also a 200 RYT certified yoga instructor.

We were fortunate enough to experience this brand new retreat center and have this wonderful conversation in person and you can really feel the energy from being together throughout this episode.

Wild Rice Retreat is a vibrant, creative, and beautiful destination retreat center in the Upper Midwest, located on the shores of Lake Superior just outside beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin.  Wild Rice Retreat creates a space for grounding the mind, body, and spirit through integrative artistic and holistic life experiences.

Rooted in the idea of exploring and supporting expression in nature, Wild Rice Retreat offers a home for healing through guided, personal and group retreats, meeting space, and events following the pillars of nourishment, expression, and movement.

We had such a wonderful conversation with Heidi, who shared her journey to create this beautiful space and you’ll learn about the wonderful offerings that Wild Rice provides to allow their guests to rest. She shared her intention for creating this magical getaway, including the food they offer to nourish your body, the daily programming, beautiful trails and comfortable and exquisitely detailed lodging, all of which allow you to ground the mind, body and spirit.

Heidi believes that grounding in nature, tapping into your creativity, and listening to your body are truly the best gifts you can give yourself, and we couldn't agree more.

Heidi opened up and shared how she’s built resilience through building WRR during a pandemic and how she’s stayed grounded throughout the process while trusting her intuition. You’ll also gain Heidi’s powerful insight as this episode is packed with so many life lessons, inspiration and motivation as you continue on your journey to living well.

She has a special offer for our listeners to receive 15% off using code LIVINGWELL for a personal retreat.  Additionally, Heidi has a January retreat coming up later this month and is offering our listeners a $100 off using the code WINTER100.  WRR has a scholarship fund; please contact them to learn more.
